WH PROPERTIES is currently offering a lease on the former Scientific College of Beauty and Barbering, a 10,840 square foot space in downtown La Crosse, on Historic Pearl Street.
The
2-story building is equipped as a salon/beauty school, and would make a
perfect day spa/salon. Most fixtures remain, including dozens of salon
chairs, shampoo chairs, industrial dryers, massage tables, facial
tables, etc. Since the former school closed, crews have been cleaning
and upgrading the space, so it could easily be re-opened as a beauty
school.
In addition to the 10,840 sq ft on the first and second floors, the building also features a 5,000 square foot clean basement with concrete floors (which is not always common in historic buildings.
The basement, first floor, and second floor are all accessed by stairways, but also by a modern passenger elevator (also not so common in these historic downtown buildings). The HVAC system for the building was completely replaced in June of 2008 by Schneider Heating and Air Conditioning. Two independent systems heat and cool the basement/first floor, and the 2nd floor.

is planning to renovate the building facade in 2009 to more accurately
represent the historic look of Pearl Street. First step has been the
removal of the old advertising signage on the facade. The new facade
is in the planning stages.
